3 Accomplishments/1 Failure JAN 23
— Mornings, fitness, writing.
— Mornings:
I’ve been regimented in the morning. My days start like this:
- Wake
- Coffee/oats
- Sunlight
- Elevate
- 5 — 15 page read
- Breathe
This simple routine is effective and creates a lot of mental momentum.
— Fitness:
I was super consistent in the gym. 25 out of 31 days last month. For 95% of the workouts, mainly weight lifting, I felt focused, energized, able to push through progressive overload. I got the right amount of protein. I took the basics, pre workout, creatine, of course, water. I gained some lean muscle. Which feels dang good. It’s not a bad idea to voluntarily tax the body from time to time. So long as it’s healthy for you, in some sense obviously.

I developed some strong writing habits in January.
I think a lot of it has to do with how much I read.
I read everyday from multiple sources.
The more words I read, the quicker I wrote my own.
I captured thoughts that truly interested me.
Ideas were floating forsure.
— FAILURE?
Selfishness is tricky to discern. Isn’t everything we do self-centered in some sense?
One could say no. Duh.
You could be way more selfless and you know it. This is where I have the most room for improvement.
I really think 2023 will be my best year ever.
I don’t say that haphazardly. I’m really thinking about what that would mean and look like; I think it looks like continuous and rigorous self-reflection and self-denial. I want to focus on God more. I want to love my fianceé more. I want to call my family more. I want to reach out to friends more. I desire to be more giving with my time and resources.
I’m aimed at that going forward. Update coming February.
