Acting on a Light Bulb Moment

I just got one of those spurts of pure genius. What do you think?

Okay, I really need your advice here… Like seriously, I need to hear your feedback on this idea I’m pondering.

I need you to clap or respond.

I hate asking for that directly, but it’s the only way I’ll know if you support what I’m about to tell you.

Play along

Okay class, how many of you write on Medium?

(10 hands shoot up) *Feel free to clap as show of hands*

How many of you write for recreation?

(15 hands go up)

How many of you write everyday, regardless?

We’re all reaching for the sky now.

I say all that to creatively make a point: We’re all writers here.

Some of us write well. Others? Not so much. But, let’s not forget, no one is perfect. We all have the means to improve our writing skills. I use the word ‘skills’ in the literal sense; as in punctuation and grammar. You know, the stuff that actually allows you to write a clear, concise, effective message.

The idea:

I would like to facilitate high quality writing on Medium.

How, you ask?

Every other day, I’d like to share one rule or tip on grammar and punctuation. Nothing fancy, just bite-sized bits you can grab and go.

I want to break down the learning process. I want to simplify those elusive writing rules. I want to bring the lesson to you.

And I want to do this in a straightforward, exciting manner. Yes, I said exciting! My goal here is to help, motivate, and inform people on how to improve what they write.

We all win

By implementing this idea, we all benefit. Seriously — think about it!

This will encourage and help you to write better.

This will enhance the writing you read by others on Medium.

This idea will boost my performance, too.

(I could definitely use some fine tuning)

So, what do you think?

Personally, would you be interested in something like this? Do you think it’s a good idea or a waste of time? Can I add anything to it?

Talk to me! Claps are a thumbs up.
