Attention Medium: Here’s An Invitation to Roast Me

Often times, I’ll see a story pop up on my homepage that’s mildly enticing.

I click on it, read it through, and think “meh.”

Then I realize it has 5.4K claps.

I think to myself, how is that possible? How did that person who has half as many followers get so much applause and exposure?

What did they do right? What am I doing wrong?

Why is no one reading what I’m writing?

Numbers don’t lie:

Over the last couple weeks I’ve published 6 stories.
Collectively, they’ve accumulated 110 views.
But those stories only have 14 reads.
That’s a PITIFUL read ratio of 12%.
1 in 10 people are actually reading what I’m writing… And get this:

When I come across a problem, I try to scope out all reasons why I might be responsible. I’ve already told myself “It’s me. Hi. I’m the problem, it’s me.” But the more I look, the more I analyze, the more I feel confused.
