Don’t go for “grounded.” It’s better in the clouds.

Remember back in the day when the world didn’t seem so flat? When imagination came easy. When you didn’t have a clue how things worked and you were okay with it.

I do

For me, that “back in the day” was just 3 or 4 years ago. Fresh out of high school, free from social unease and parental control, I felt ready to conquer the world.

I had big ideas; over the top visions for the future. Not just for myself, but for everything.

The possibilities? Endless.

It’s still there

I still have those thoughts and ambitions, but now I work within different parameters.

I’ve learned a lot throughout college (or so I think). I definitely have a new outlook on business and “ideas” compared to a few years back. I’m more practical and aware of how things really work in the world.

Some may say that’s a good thing. Some might think that’s a bad thing.

Part of life

We live, we learn, we grow and change. As we understand and experience more life, we become wiser.

Naturally, we graduate from wishful and extraordinary to realistic and plausible. However…

Don’t lose your ability to think big.

Just don’t.

Yes, we want to be as smart as possible; we want all the answers. But you can’t neglect the joy of carelessness.

Go for it

Why am I telling you to dream and think big?

“What’s the point, wont I just waste my time?”

Absolutely not.

When you live with a sense of imagination and vision you set big goals. And when you set big goals, you move closer to them overtime. I’m a big believer in the power of process. For me, the journey is more important than the destination.

Don’t try to eradicate ambiguity from your life and throw out all your foolishness.

Once you get rid of imagination, it’s hard to get back. Once you stop allowing yourself to be free, the world turns bleak.

There’s beauty in “not knowing.” Let your mind wander. Ponder the possibilities. This will keep you happy and inspired.

This is Day 26 of my writing challenge. This post definitely feels sort of jumbled and incomplete by my normal standards. I’ve gotta roll with the punches though.

Bored, uneducated, homeless — em dashes are my specialty. I write what I see, think, and feel. That’s it.
