Grab-n-Go Quote
No time for an 8 min read? You’re in luck.

I can’t tell you where this quote originated from. I heard it from my geography teacher / football coach way back in high school. It’s been years since I heard it, but it has stuck with me ever since.
It’s better to keep quiet and let them think you’re an idiot than to open your mouth and leave no doubt.
I give credit to Cole Schafer’s latest post for the inspiration.
So often, we want to chime in, give our input and explain “what we think” regardless if it’s necessary. Many people have a hard time knowing when to zip it. They get lured in, over-explain and end up looking like an idiot in the process.
Speak with purpose. Add value to the conversation. Don’t talk just for the sake of talking.
When necessary, bite your tongue… don’t spill your guts and make a mess.
