I can see what you mean. I did write in private for a while (8 months) before I publicly put anything out there.

I suppose this time was spent finding my tone and style. It built my confidence up, too. I got to a place where I was comfortable enough to share it with others.

Sure, it’s intimidating and potentially embarrassing to share your inner thoughts / feelings with certain people. I get that completely. But, at some point you need to address why you’re hiding it and what it means for you to hold it in.

You almost have to ask “what’s the worst that can happen?” If you’re being genuine and showing your true self, it’s only right you show people that side of you.

It’s incredibly relieving and satisfying to share your writing with others. Your close friends and family will be the ones who appreciate it the most. It’ll open doors for you; it’s a big obstacle every writer must overcome.
